Abstract
A rare case of nonfunctioning malignant pancreatic endocrine tumor is reported. A 62-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of a mass in the hypochondrium, which had been pointed out at a routine check up for diarrhea. There were no associated obvious signs or symptoms caused by hypersecretion of pancreatic hormones. The tumor developed from the pancreatic body and was resected by distal pancreatectomy. The excised tumor was 4.7×3.5×3.5 cm in size. Histological diagnosis was pancreatic nonfunctioning malignant endocrine tumor with vascular invasion. The patient remains well with no evidenceof recurrence as of six years after the operation.
