抄録

A 76-year-old male was seen at the hospital because of lumbago and jaundice. An abdominal CT showed a cystic mass at the pancreatic head. The patient was diagnosed as having a carcinoma of the pancreatic head and underwent pancreatoduodenectomy. Histopathologically the tumor was mostly composed of squamous cell carcinoma and partially of adenocarcinoma concomitantly. It was diagnosed as adenosquamous cell carcinoma. Adenosquamous cell carcinoma of the pancreas is rare. In a review of 53 cases reported in Japan, the cystic lesion on CT and hypervascularity on angiography were considered characteristic of adenosquamous cell carcinoma of the pancreas.
