Abstract

A 44-year-old woman was seen at the hospital becuase of a fever and right lower abdominal pain. There was a previous history of undergoing a colectomy with a diagnosis of intestinal Behçet's disease 5 years before. Abdominal roentogenography, ultrasonography and computed tomography revealed ileocutaneous fistula. She was diagnosed with recurrent intestinal Behçcet's disease. Steroid hormone therapy for 4 months was ineffective. So the patient was operated on. At the operation, punched-out perforation of the ileum was found and a partial resection of the ileum including the perforation was performed. She was comfortably discharaged from the hospital on the 72nd day after the operation. In the operation of intestinal Behçet's disease, adequate resection of the ileum is important for preventing the recurrence. And careful observation monitoring a probable recurrence of the disease would be mandatory.
