Intraluminal duodenal diverticulum (abbreviated as IDD) is an anomaly of the digestive tract characterized by formation of cystic diverticuli in the duodenal lumen through extension of the incomplete duodenal septum, as a remnant of the tissue of the fetal stage, toward the anal side by peristalsis and pressure from foods. This condition can be a candidate for operation, because it may cause intestinal obstruction or gallstone. The chief complaints are upper abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting and abdominal distension. Hematoemesis or anal bleeding has been reported in none of the cases. We experienced a case of IDD in a 26-year-old woman complaining of hematoemesis and anal bleeding. In this case IDD was resected surgically. The aim of the present paper is to report this case with some literary discussion.
