抄録

We experienced a case of juvenile stromal sarcoma of the left breast, which is so rare that only 27 patients have been reported in Japan. Any standerdized therapeutic guideline has not been established as yet.<br> A 29-year-old woman was referred to the hospital because of a gradually growing tumor of the left breast. A 2.5cm×2.5cm well defined and movable firm mass was palpated in the upper lateral region of the left breast. Ultrasonography revealed a 2.9×2.5cm tumor with irregular surface and mosaic echoic pattern with suspectied malignancy the tumor was excised under local anesthesia. The pathological diagnosis of the surgical specimen was stromal sarcoma. She was admitted to the hospital and a quadrantectomy with dissection of axillary and subclavian lymph nodes was performed. Radiation therapy and chemotherapy were carried out after the operation. She has been treated with UFT on an ambulant basis. There has been no sign of recurrence or metastasis as of eight months after the operation.
