Abstract
A case of intussusoeption due to an invaginated Meckels diverticulum with a tumors is reported. A 26-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of a right lower abdominal pain which lasted for about seven months after appendectomy and recently became colicky and internittently. Physical examination revealed severe tenderness on his lower abdomen. Barium enema revealed a stenosis in the ileumed. CT scan revealed a target like appearance in his lower abdomen. Then under a diagnosis of intussusception of the ileum, a laparotomy was made. Intraoperatively, an invaginated Meckels diverticullum which led to intussusception was identified. Partial resection of the ileum with an end-to-end anastomosis was performed. A tumor 2 cm in size was identified in a top of the Meckel's diverticulum. Histologically the tumor was lipoma. Meckel's diverticullum with a tumor have been reported in only 25 cases in Japan for latest 64 years. This paper reports such a rare case with a review of the literature.
