抄録

In order to select the early gastric cancer with submucosal invasion for the curative partial resection, clinicopatholigical study was performed to 218 cases of single early gastric cancer with submucosal invasion at our institute from 1979 to 1993.<br> Results were: 1) The incidence of lymph node metastasis of the early gastric cancer with submucosal invasion was 13%. None of the cases of the early gastric cancer 2.0cm or less in size nor with minute submucosal invasion showed lymph node metastasis. 2) Lymph node metastasis was frequent in type OI and mixed types. The incidence of lymph node metastasis was 17% in type OI, 23% in type OIIa+IIc, or 22% in OIIc mixed type. 3) None of the cases of type OIIa showed lymph node metastasis. 4) None of the cases of type OIIc 3.0cm or less in size and with minute submucosal invasion showed lymph node metastasis nor vessel invasion.<br> We suggest that cases of early gastric cancer with submucosal invasion of type OIIa, and type OIIc 3.0cm or less in size and with minute submucosal invasion can be treated curatively by partial resection.
