Abstract

Malignant lymphoma of the pancreas is extremely rare. We report such a case with a review of the literature. A 68-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of obstructive jaundice. Abdominal computed tomography and ultrasonography showed a solid mass in the head of the pancreas and swollen gallbladder and bile duct. Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiodrainage was performed. Cholangiography visualized a circum-ferential stenosis at the lower common bile duct. With a preoperative diagnosis of cancer of the pancreas, a total panceatectomy was performed for the tumor invaded the body of the pancreas. The excised tumor was 6.0×4.0×2.5 cm in size. The pthological and immunohistochemical study showed diffuse large cell type (T-cell) and Ki-1 lymphoma.
