Young women with gastric cancer pose a great problem of pregnancy and delivery. It is still controversial how young women after gastrectomy for a gastric cancer should be managed for the pregnancy and delivery. We experienced a case of recurrence followed by death due to pregnancy and delivery 2 years after gastrectomy for double early gastric cancer in a 36-year-old woman.<br> The patient had been under observation for hyperplastic polyposis of the stomach for several years and endoscopic polypectomy was performed. Because of gastric cancer was revealed and the cancer cells were presented on the stump of resected specimen, a total gastrectomy was performed. Histologically the cancer cell was free in the stomach, but the lymph nodes metastasis were found. The postoperative course was complicated with obstruction of the small bowel and an adhesiolysis was performed.<br> After that the bowel obstruction occurred several times but improved by conservative decompression therapy. Two years after the gastrectomy she was referred to the hospital with suspected bowel obstruction, when she was already 9 months gestation. She was delivered of a male child in the next month. One month after the delivery, cervical lymph node swelling was revealed and recurrence of gastric cancer was diagnosed by biopsy. The patient received chemotherapy but died 6 months after the delivery.
