A case of giant diffuse cavernous hemangioma of the intestine and mesenterium associated with Kasabach-Merritt syndrome in a 46-year-old woman is reported. The patient had been suffering from intermittent rectal bleeding caused by a cavernous hemangioma during the last 20 years. After 1997, she could not spend her everyday life easily because of repeated rectal bleeding a associated Kasabach-Merritt syndrome. On December 15 1998, the patient underwent an anterior resection and an ileocecal resection for the giant diffuse cavernous hemangioma around the inferior mesenteric artery and ileocecal region. The almost entire giant cavernous hemangioma was dissected except scattered small heman-giomas on the small and large intestines. The patient spends her daily life without any symptoms of rectal bleeding after the surgery.
