抄録

We report a case of synchronous double cancer of early esophageal cancer and carcinoma in adenoma of the papilla Vater. A 69-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of epigastralgia, and diagnosed as having esophageal cancer and adenoma of the papilla Vater. Resection of the intrathoracic esophagus and reconstruction by the colon with vessel stalk were performed, followed by a pyroluspreserving pancreatoduodenectomy on a two-step approach. The resected specimen revealed esophageal submucosal cancer without lymph node metastasis and carcinoma in adenoma of the papilla Vater.<br> Adenoma of the duodenal papilla has been reported having a high prevalence of cancer and a malignant potential. We suggest at present that pancreaticoduodenectomy is preferable for the manage-ment of adenoma of the papilla Vater, if the patient's general condition permits it.
