Surgical therapy for gastric cancer requires appropriate lymph node dissection to attain a curative operation. Extended surgeries have to be performed according to the clinical stage of the disease and risks of complications with such surgeries resultantly become high. We report two successfully treated cases of intraabdominal bleeding by using embolization after operation for gastric cancer. Case 1: A 66-year-old man underwent a left upper abdominal evisceration. After the operation, a leakage of pancreatic juice from the divided section of the pancreas was confirmed. During the treatment of that complication, intraabdominal bleeding occurred. It was able to detect the origin of the bleeding at the ligated point of the splenic artery and left gastric artery by an angiography. We succeeded in hemostasis by embolization. Case 2: A 56-year-old man underwent a curative operation for early gastric cancer. After the operation, leakage of duodenal juice from the duodenal stamp was noted. Thereafter intraab-dominal bleeding occurred, which was able to be arrested bleeding by embolization.<br> The leakage of digestive juice as a complication after surgery for gastric cancer is liable to cause intraabdominal bleeding. It must be useful for those cases to conduct angiography and embolization to cure that fatal bleeding.
