A case of secretory carcinoma (SC) which is very rare is reported. A 47-year-old woman was seen at the hospital because of bilateral breast indurations. A tumor 15mm in diameter was located in the upper-outer portion of the right breast. Aspiration biopsy cytology revealed malignant findings (Class V). Breast conserving surgery was carried out with a diagnosis of stage I breast cancer. Microscopically the tumor cells formed papillary and tubuloaveolar structures which resembled thyroid follicle. They were filled with eosinophilic secretory substances. No metastasis in the resected lumph nodes was found histologically and hormone receptor expression was negative. The prognosis of SC has been reported relatively favorable in most cases. However, in a revies of the literture, the histological node status showed no difference between SC and common breast cancer in the same stage and the hormone receptor expression in SC was lower than the latter. It follows that the prognosis of SC is not so good and the treatment for SC should be approached with caution.
