抄録

A case of early esophageal adenocarcinoma arising in Barrett's esophagus is reported. The patient, a 47-year-old woman was found to have Barrett's esophagus in endoscopic examination at medical checkup. No symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux were presented. Endoscopic examination disclosed the findings of Barrett's esophagus covering from a site 35cm from incisor teeth to the esophago-gastric junction, and an ulcerative lesion 2cm diamiter at a site 37cm from incisor teeth. At esophagography an irregular surface was detected in the lower esophagus without hiatal hernia. Under a diagnosis of esophageal adenocarcinoma arising in the Barrett's esophagus, the patient underwent a subtotal esophagectomy. Histologically, well-differentiated adenocarcinoma was presented in the Barrett's epithelium and the invasion depth of the tumor was limited to the mocosa.
