抄録

In crude extracts of the male reproductive organs of the silkmoth, Bombyx mori, glycogen phosphorylase was activated by AMP only after removal of low-molecular substances. This enzyme activity was found in the testis, ductus deferens, ampulla ductus deferentis, and the glandula lacteola and vesicula seminalis in the male reproductive tract. The activities and specific activities of phosphorylase in the glandula lacteola and vesicula seminalis decreased markedly after ejaculation. The type a enzyme comprised about 80% of the total phosphorylase activity in the secretions of these 2 glands, but much less in the cells. Phosphorylase activity in the spermatophore was maintained at a constant high level, suggesting the occurrence of extracellular glycolysis in this organ.
