抄録

Ganglion arising from the oblique popliteal ligament is extremely rare.<br>We experienced a case in which MRI was useful in diagnosising this problem. The patient was a forty one-year-old male complaining of popliteal pain when standing. MRI revealed a globular mass adjacent to the posterior cruciate ligament. The mass showed uniformly low intensity in T1, and high ihtensity in T2. We tried to remove the mass using the posterior approach. The root of the mass was arising from the oblique popliteal ligament. The mass had a fibrous capsule and was filled with filled withe mucus peculiar to that of ganglion. after removal of the mass, the patient's symptoms improved completely.
