Gas turbines are well known as clean thermal engine systems, and they offer the advantages of availability for multiple fuel types and of a continuous combustion system. These engine systems have not been as popular as they might be because of their low thermal efficiency. Recently, however, thanks to development of co-generation and combined cycles, the gas turbine system has been reconsidered.<BR>This report concerns an experiment on a simple open chamber gas turbine using a heavy oil mixed fuel blended with waste cooking oil, and using a mixed fuel in which water and a surface-active agent were blended in order to purify the exhaust emissions and to save energy, respectively. Exhaust emission ingredients were measured and analyzed. The additional effect of mixed fuel, such as rapeseed oil, was compared and examined.
