抄録

Epidemiological analysis showed a higher incidence of hepatoma in the population with Schistosomiasis japonica infection, but it is a relatively rare entity. We report a case of hepatocellular carcinoma with no infection of hepatitis B or C in which histopathological findings showed that Schistosomiasis japonica eggs were observed in the portal region. An 80-year-old man referred for right hypochondralgia and a liver tumor found in ultrasonographic examination elsewhere was found to have five liver tumors, necessitating right hepatectomy and radiofrequency ablation under a diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma. Microscopic findings showed moderately differentiated hepatocellular carcinoma with liver cirrhosis. Many Schistosomiasis japonica ova were seen in the portal region of Glisson's capsule.
