抄録

We performed clinico-statistical study of oral and maxillofacial injuries in infant patients. This report included 358 children who were less than 6 years old and visited the Department of Oral Surgery, Sapporo Medical University School of Medicine during 7 years between April 1993 and March 2000. The ratio of boys to girls was 1.4: 1. The most common cause of injury was a fall. Tongue injury was mostly found in the soft tissue injuries and the anterior maxillary region injury was in the hard tissue injuries. Most of the trauma of the milk teeth were dislocation (90.8%). And most of the dislocated milk teeth were preserved and only a few teeth were extracted (9.3%).<BR>Questionnaire survey revealed that the prognoses of the preserved milk teeth were good.
