抄録

We attempted to visualize convective motion in liquid gallium layer using Ultrasonic Velocity Profiler, which can measure instantaneous velocity profile of liquids even if the liquid is opaque. Temporally averaged velocity profile showed that there is roll-like convective motion. Simultaneous measurement of instantaneous velocity profiles using two ultrasonic transducers provided spatio-temporal velocity profiles of convective motion. It was observed on the profiles that there is periodic fluctuation on convective motion to the axial direction of the roll.
