抄録

The effects of complementary light treatments on the seedling growth of Eustoma grandiflorum (Raf.) Shinn.‘Tsukushinoyuki’ and‘Shimane original purple’ were investigated using fluorescent lamps (FL) with three different colors. The seedling growth was remarkably enhanced by blue FL compared to red or white FL and control (dark at night) in 12 hr/day irradiation at 10μmol⋅m^-2⋅s^-1. These results show that the seedling growth of Eustoma grandiflorum is especially improved by blue lights. Blue lighting may thus present a promising method for reduction of the seedling period. FL is superior to other light sources in cost performance, and thus this method can be utilized in producing districts.
