抄録

Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) of the rectum is relatively rare. We report two cases of the uncommitted type of GIST of the rectum. Case 1 was admitted to the hospital due to anal bleeding. Colonoscopic findings revealed a submucosal tumor with central ulceration in the lower rectum and a biopsy specimen suggested GIST. Transanal tumor excision was performed. Mitotic index was 30/50HPF and immunohistochemical testing was KIT (+) and CD34 (+).<BR>Case 2 was admitted to the hospital due to anal pain and melena. CT scan and MBI revealed a large pelvic tumor (6.0×5.0cm). Diagnostic imaging suggested mesenchymal neoplasia. Abdominoperineal' resection (D2) was performed. Immunohistochemical testing was KIT (+) and CD34 (+), and lymph node metastasis was not detected. Both cases were diagnosed as malignant GIST. There have been no signs of recurrence to date, but a close follow-up is required.
