Abstract

The sign of Leser-Trélat is defined as seborrheic keratosis with pruritus charactetrized by rapidly increasing size and number. The Japanese literature shows few cases of breast cancer with the sign of Leser-Trélat. We report a case of this disease with a review of the literature.<br> A 66-year-old woman had a palpable tumor in the whole right breast with nipple abnormal secretion. Aspiration cytology demonstrated carcinoma cells, so she underwent a modified mastectomy with ipsilateral axillary lymph node disseciton and skin biopsy. Histopathological study of the breast specimen revealed an invasive ductal carcinoma, f, n (-). The skin biopsy revealed a seborrheic keratosis. The woman continues to be well and relapse-free 6.5 years after surgery.
