抄録

We report a 31-year-old woman with thrombosed varices of a round ligament, who presented clinically with right inguinal pain and mass. The mass had appeared during the 20th week of pregnancy, but rapidly enlarged and became painful about 4 days after normal vaginal delivery. We suspected incarcerated inguinal hernia and the patient underwent emergency surgery. We found thrombosed varices in the inguinal canal at operation.<br> This case should alert surgeons to consider thrombosed varices of round ligament, when a patient presents clinically with inguinal pain and mass during pregnancy and postpartum.
