Abstract

A bus terminal is an important traffic nodal point which connects different traffic mode in the city central part, and the form is an important element which influences the traffic convenience in a city part. Therefore, in re-distribution of the space accompanying improvement of a station square, evaluation of form selection is called for about evaluation of bus terminal improvement. A viewpoint important when considering the form of a bus terminal is "miniaturization." It is necessary to consider a bus terminal improvement based on the level of miniaturization. The Shibuya station east gate bus terminal is made into a case study, this study estimates the miniaturization improvement effect of a bus terminal quantitatively, and the validity of the miniaturization is shown.
