抄録

This study is directed to the problem of measuring average distances between two points in each of two coplanar regions. The objectives are: 1)to derive the approximated distances and to check their accuracy in some interesting cases; and 2)to apply this approximated distances to actual cases. Using simple functional forms, results show that they are accurate and useful. The approximated average distances can be applied to the analyses of varied kinds of movement phenomena in cities.
