Abstract

Entangled photon pairs are one of the important resources for quantum cryptography, quantum teleportation and quantum repeaters. However, the entanglement is degraded through noisy quantum channels between the sender and the receiver. Therefore, entanglement distillation, which allows us to extract highly entangled pairs from less-entangled pairs, is important for quantum communication. Here, we introduce our recent experimental demonstration of entanglement distillation and the faithful transmission of any state of a polarization qubit against correlated noise.
