Abstract

The close relationship between the two accreditation processes of the Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE) and Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) is briefly explained. The present status of the undergraduate education programs of physics and applied physics courses in Japan is discussed in the light of JABEE accreditation criteria referring to a recent research result reported by R. Lang. It is accepted that the JABEE accreditation process gives good start for the suitable reconstruction of physics and applied physics undergraduate courseworks.
