The aim of this study was to clarify factors affecting the clinical outcomes of conservative treatments for unilateral mandibular condylar fractures. In 41 patients (30 males and 11 females) treated at our hospital, age, sex, clinical findings, image findings, and methods of treatment were investigated. The duration of trismus and mandibular deviation during mouth opening were clinically evaluated. The correlations were studied by multivariate analysis.<BR>The results were as follows:<BR>There were significant correlations between condylar dislocation and the duration of trismus and between the degree of malposition of bone fragments and mandibular deviation during mouth opening.
