Abstract

Eleven SPF White Leghorn female chickens were inoculated intratracheally with Mycoplasma gallisepticum, while 11 chickens withM. synoviae. Sera were examined for dot-immunobinding (DIB) and agglutinating antibodies every week for 10 weeks after inoculation. All sera from inoculated chickens were shown to have high positivity against the inoculated organisms in both tests, whereas sera from uninoculated control chickens were negative. In agglutination test remarkable false-positive reaction was observed with sera from both inoculated groups. In the DIB test, however, non-specific reaction was never observed. Results of the DIB test with sera at their 100-fold dilution coincided with the results of agglutination test at a level of 86% with MG and 92% with MS antigen.
