Abstract

In November 1992, 4 of 11 Piglets in the same litter showed swelling of the hock and carpal joints at 12 days. In 3 of those 4 piglets (two 23-day-old and one 30-day-old) yellowish white and fibrinous exudate was seen around the joints, and histopathology revealed severe infiltration of neutrophils with a small amount of fibrin within the joint cavity and on the synovial membrane showing marked fibrous hypertrophy was observed. From the lesions V-factor dependentPasterurella multocidaA: 3 was isolated.
