Abstract

The viable numbers of Clostridium perfringens showed decrease of less than 1 log in chicken intestinal contents sampled as early as possible with the two end-legations and stored at 4°C for 2 days. In case of bovine feces kept at 4°C for 7 days in a plastic bag and Cary-Blair transport medium, the viable numbers of the organisms showed decrease of 1.5 log and less than 1 log, respectively.
