Abstract

犬の糞便から採取後3ヵ月保存した<I>Sarcocystis arieticanis</I>のスポロシスト1×107個をめん羊2頭に経口投与したところ, 投与後14日および26日に発熱が認められ, 第2回の発熱時には食欲廃絶, 呼吸・脈拍数の増加がみられた. 投与後16日の剖検例では, 腸間膜リンパ節の水腫性腫大のほかは著変が認められなかったが, 腸間膜および腸間膜リンパ節に第1代シゾント (14~44×12~20μm) が認められた.投与後30日の剖検例では胸水, 腹水および心嚢水が増量し, 斑状または点状出血が全身臓器に認められ, 病理組織学的に出血と単核細胞浸潤がみられ, 全身小血管の内皮細胞に第2代シゾント (10~25×6~14μm) がみられた

Two young sheep were inoculated orally with 1×10<SUP>7</SUP> sporocysts of <I>Sarcocystis arieticanis</I> from canine feces stored at 4°C for 3 months. Two peaks of fever were recognized 14 and 26 days after inoculation and at the second peak, pulse and respiratory rates increased and appetite was lost. In one case sacrificed on day 16 postinoculation, mesenteric lymph nodes were enlarged and edematous, and the first generation schizonts (14-44×12-20μm in size; n=50) were detected in the mesentery and its lymph nodes. In the other case necropsied on day 30 postinoculation was shown to have asites, hydrothorax and hydropericardium, showing ecchymosis and petechiasis in most organs. Histopathology revealed hemorrhage and mononuclar cell infiltration in most organs, and the second generation schizonts (10-25×6-14μm; n=50) were observed in the small blood vessels.
