Abstract
For ostomates who were anxious about stool's odor,a new stoma bag attached with tablets containing deodorant liquid was developed and evaluated. This tablet measures 1.0 cm in diameter and 0.3 cm in thickness containing 0.3 ml of Super Vanish TM. Super Vanish TM consists of nitrate of silver and thio-urea-ethylene. Three pieces of this tablet are arranged on both sides of the bag for a total of 6 tablets. When a patient squashes these tablets, the content comes out and Super Vanish TM decreases odor. As a result,if a patient squashes a tablet 5 minutes before opening stoma bag and throwing away feces, the effectiveness for Super Vanish TM to decrease odor becomes best.
