抄録

Metastatic tumors to the tonsil are rare. This report presents a case of a patient with metastatic in the right palatine tonsil from mediastinal malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH).<BR>A 64-year-old male had been in our hospital for treatment of mediastinum MFH. He complained of a bleeding mass that existed in the upper portion of the right palatine tonsil with a stalk, so he was sent to our division for examination. A tumor was removed by using of coagulator. The surgical specimen revealed MFH.<BR>The clinical aspects of metastatic tonsillar tumor and a possible mechanism of the metastatic processes are discussed.
