Abstract
Cellulose and related polysaccharides exhibit a range of interesting characteristics at the molecular and supramolecular levels, in addition to their natural renewability and environmental adaptability. On the basis of accurate understanding of those characteristics, it is possible to design and fabricate highly functionalized cellulosic materials for many-faceted prospective applications.
