抄録

Toyama Green Food Recycle, Inc. has been working on two recycling projects authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture as verification programs for an advanced model of a food recycling facility that includes biogasification of food waste and composting of pruned trees. These projects are being operated in the area of the Eco-Town Program in Toyama City, which has been approved as part of the Zero Emission Initiative being promoted throughout Japan as a measure toward the prevention of global warming. Toyama City Eco Town has been approved as the first case of its kind in the Hokuriku area, and 16^th among ecological townships for the whole nation. By using methane fermentation techniques, food waste is being recycled into biogas, which fuels the in-house power generation at the facility. This report demonstrates the actual achievements of the program through such recycling projects over the past five years.
