Abstract

Various tests employed in Japan for evaluating the functions of hearing aids are explained. The tests were categorized into those for examining the hearing threshold with hearing aids, those for examining the speech discrimination score, and questionnaires surveys. None of the tests is satisfactory for evaluating a hearing aid completely. Further researches to determine the optimum test batteries are required for the purpose of evaluating the various aspects of the functions of the hearing aid.
