Abstract

Angiectatic nasal polyp (ANP) is a rare entity of usually found as an inflammatory sinonasal polyp, accounting for 4 to 5% of all nasal polyps. We report a case of ANP localized in the maxillary sinus. A 66-year-old woman with choanal discharge was found to have as tumorous mass in the right maxilla. It was removed endonasally using an endoscope. A histological study proved it to be ANP.<br>ANP originates mainly from the maxillary sinus mucosa, and enlarges gradually without provoking any nasal symptoms. Clinical symptoms are similar to juvenile angiofibromas and malignant tumors, marking differential diagnosis from these diseases important.
