A 14-year-old female had been suffering from a click in both ears for two years. The tinnitus could be heard objectively. Endoscopic examination showed that the soft palate repeatedly touched and separated from the posterior wall of the nasopharynx, in sychrony with the click. Sonotubometry revealed spontaneous opening and closing of the eustachian tube which synchronized with movement of the soft palate. A sound-spectrogram indicated that the duration of the tinnitus was 60-70msec, and the frequency range was 1500-8000 and 9000-16000 Hz. All the findings showed that the click originated from the soft palate and the eustachian tube.
