A 2.6-year-boy was noted to have esotropia and left head turn. We considered that sensory esotropia developed because of blindness in his right eye caused by optic nerve atrophy. Also, dissociated vertical deviation and latent nystagmus was observed because of disrupted binocular visual function. Latent nystagmus developed into manifest latent nystagmus, because the blind right eye acted like an occlusion. In conclusion, in examining patients with eye alignment abnormalities and abnormal head posture, careful investigation must be done to establish whether this is a paralytic strabismus, nystagmus, and so on.
