抄録

A 77-year-old man was admitted to another hospital with a diagnosis of fractured transverse processes of the left 1st∼5th lumbar vertebrae and a retroperitoneal hematoma due to a fall. The patient was transferred to our hospital because of unstable vital signs the next day. Abdominal enhanced CT scan showed extravasation in the left retroperitoneal space and he was diagnosed with injury of the lumbar artery with multiple fractures of the lumbar vertebral transverse processes. Emergent angiography was performed and trans-arterial embolization was attempted but the microcatheter could not be passed into the damaged lumbar artery. A stent graft implantation was then performed. Though slight extravasation was visible at the end of the procedure, his vital signs stabilized. Resolution of the extravasation was identified on follow-up CT two days later.
