Abstract

We report a rare case of sialolith in the minor salivary gland duct of the lower lip of a 61-year-old woman. She was referred to our department with the chief complaint of a painless swelling in right lower lip, which had persisted for 3 months. US images of the area showed a clear mass with echogenic dots. Extirpation of the mass was performed under local anesthesia. The histological diagnosis was a chronic sialadentitis accompanied by a sialolith. During six months of follow-up, there have been no signs or symptoms of recurrence.
