This paper descries a performance analysis of a small gas turbine engine with a reciprocating gasifier, which is expected to show higher efficiency without any heat exchanger, by using the newly developed simulation code. In this analysis, many design and operating parameters which would affect on the engine performance were varied and their effects on its thermal efficiency and specific power were analysed. Analysis showed that compressor pressure ratio, bypass ratio, turbine expansion ratio, intake and exhaust valve riming and cylinder wall temperature were the most critical parameters and the thermal efficiency of this type of engine would be over 50% without any heat exchanger by parameter optimization.
