Abstract

It is generally said that more women suffer from constipation than men. We conducted a survey of different age groups to find out the facts about constipation and its related problems. We observed that particularly women in their 20s and 30s have constipation problems. Young women who have a desire to lose weight tend to be constipated, and there was a higher tendency to take constipation drugs in this group. It seems that they believe these drugs may have an effect on weight control. Commercial films of constipation drugs may have different influences on young women, depending on their experiences of constipation problems and their strong desire to lose weight.
