In Merleau-Ponty's ”The Structure of Behavior”,the word 'consciouness' is used in verious meanings according to contexts. But generally consciousness is divided into four different types of acts of'consciousness'. 1:lived consciousness in the perception. 2:consciousness of truth (i.e.representative consciousness). 3:consciousness as a network of significative intentions. 4:consciousness as universal milieu (i.e.absolute consciousness in 'the critical idealism'). According to Merleau-Ponty these types are differents orders of dialectics of human beings. And he poses the following question in ”The Structure of Behavior”. 'What is the relation between consciousness as universal milieu and consciousness enrooted in the subordinated dialectics?' The aim of this paper is to clarify the relations of these types of conscousness. These relations have not been clearly determined in the studies concerning Merleau-Ponty's philosophy. According to me, these relations can be explained by the concept of integration (or structuration). The process of integration is closely related to the localizations in the nervous system. And the explication of the function of integration elucidates also Merleau-Ponty's thought on the relation of the Soul and the Body.
