Abstract
The former studies on community satisfaction may be divided into two types. In this paper the framework used in one of the types is adopted, where concept of community satisfaction is given the position as an independent variable. And the analysis resides in the concept of role-feeling, one of significant concepts in community-reconstruction studies, too. This paper, using data from the aged who live in Gunma prefecture, is intended as an investigation of the possibility of the aged to participate in community activities and the interrelation between community satisfaction and role-feeling. Results are that the aged have positive attitude to community activities, and that the concept of community satisfaction can be used for the explaination of role-feeling of the aged. Then it could be supposed that, at least to the aged, the concept of community satisfaction is an effective independent or intervening variable, and also it functions as both variables at the same time.
