Non-Chinese origin pronunciations of Sino readings of Kanji (Kan-yoo-on) was established in the Meiji era. There are four types of development of these pronunciations. Two of them are discussed in this paper. One is concerned with the relationship between word formation and phonological process and the other is vowel lengthen.
