It is regarded as an established theory, that the Origin of Amusement Parks was 17th century European "Pleasure Gardens". The development of the modern type of Amusement Parks, where a lot of Amusement Park equipment is used, started on "Coney Island" in America in the late 19th century. Meanwhile in Japan, the modern type of Amusement Parks was developed under the influence of both Europe and America. Nevertheless, its origin has been found to be in a garden unique to Japan. In the origins and the history of Japanese Amusement Parks, we can recognize the influence of leisure behaviours peculiar to the Japanese. Even now, the themes of "Flower-viewing","Outdoor-party with sake","Grand-lunch-box", and "Seasonal Excursion" remain. The Purpose of this paper is to make clear the influence of these distinctive Japanese behaviours in the origins and the history of Japanese Amusement Parks, and to represent leisure behaviour diagrammatic ally.
