Abstract
In this study, I have examined differences between the words 'kokyo' and 'kyodo' through analyzing some works of the Meiji era of Japan, for example, Kisei by Koshoshi Myazaki and Ichiaku-no-suna, Sibutami-nikki by Takuboku Isikawa. Thorough this examination, the true meaning of "Kokyo" and "Kyodo" is made clear.
